Jackson Robinson is a big name in custom playing cards. Every one of his decks has had incredible success and regularly sell out quickly on Kickstarter or his website.
One of his earliest releases was the Federal 52 Bicycle Branded and unbranded certificate edition decks. They all had incredibly detailed art all done by hand and were received with huge applause from the playing card collecting community. I have reviewed them before on this website. My favourite deck in that series is the undbranded Silver Certificate decks. Absolutely beautiful.

I know this is starting to sound like a broken record but I wanted to let you know I have several reviews in progress but as part of the site’s reboot I am trying to dig a little further on these decks and contact creators about their decks.
Sometimes it takes some time to communicate and due to the nature of my job being a truck driver I am not available to post these reviews while I am on the road during the week.
Upcoming I have an oldie but something unique to the Canadian market. I also have a deck by Jackson Robinson of Kings Wild that’s his take on an older style USPCC deck.
Thanks for your patience once again.
Hey guys. I wanted to say hi to all the readers of this website. I appreciate all the continued support. It means a lot to me to see this blog get as much traffic as it does.
Obviously you have noticed a lack of updates here and this has been for a good reason. While I have not lost interest in playing cards my focus has shifted to my new technology/gaming website RedBlueGreen.ca. This is a bit of a rebirth of a blog I ran about 10 years ago. On my new website I record podcasts with some friends and write about news and products we have used. Feel free to pop on over and check the new site out.
As for Deck Review I plan in the near future to bring this site out of hiatus and back to a semi-regularly updated site. I have hundreds of decks to review and would love to share my thoughts on them with you all.
Again, thanks for hanging in there and I hope to share some more with you soon.
A rather new player in the playing card arena, Denexa has been producing plastic playing cards for the past few years and are trying to move in to the big time with the likes of Bicycle Prestige, Kem and Copag. Can they bring a good enough game to compete? Let’s take a look at an Adventurer’s Pack produced by Denexa.
FULL DISCLOSURE: Scott Nazelrod, President of Denexa Games contacted me and asked if he could send me a deck to review. I agreed and so here we are. Continue reading “Denexa Adventurer’s Pack”
So here we are again. I’ve made some posts and I hope you enjoyed them. There are so many decks I have to review and so little time to do so. I have more to come including the Infinity Edition Alienink deck, Density, Bad Robot (mystery deck), Deckstarter, Hi My Name is Mark, Smoke and Mirrors private reserve. I could go on but there really are too many.
Let me know what you would like to see first and I will do my best to oblige the next time I get some more reviews up.
This is another successful Kickstarter project for playing cards. I was happy to see these get funded. The original attempt was not successful. Printed by the USPCC on Bicycle stock with an air cushion finish.

Designed by Ellusionist as the pinnacle of the Artifice collection and is only available to Black Club members. They are produced by the USPCC. This is going to be a short review as it feels I have reviewed these before many times.
Design-wise there isn’t much to say. Where other decks have been green, blue, purple and so on this deck is gold. They handle the same as the previous decks, which is good. The tuck box has a sort of matte finish on the black and the other details are all gold foil.
The only real issue I take with this deck is the fact there is no gold colouring to the jokers. I feel Ellusionist missed a huge opportunity here especially since the deck is as limited as it is.
BACK – 6/10
FACE – 5/10
FINISH – 8/10
So? The performance coating makes for a slippery finish which is nice for performers sometimes but I find it distracting. At least it is a Bicycle stock. They missed the boat on the jokers and that hurts the score a bit. I do like the deck overall and have the maximum seven that can be ordered in my collection. I don’t expect these to appreciate in value though. I think people are sick of the Artifice deck at this point.
If you have not heard of this collection you probably have not been part of the card collecting or magic community for long. The decks in this collection have awed many a person and commanded a hefty sum in the aftermarket. The successful Kickstarter campaign led to one of the most beautiful collections ever created and inspired by currency.

As I promised I would have an interview with the creators of the One Widow playing cards. These guys are great and were really open about the inner workings of things there. I really appreciate Jared and Matt’s time in sending me some answers. The Q & A is after the break!
